(PDF with photos) May 1, 2018 – Mother Nature delivered a breezy spring morning for the Colonel Richardson High School Annual Tractor Day. John Deere green, New Holland blue, and Case red brightened up the parking lot, and a goat, pig, and cow joined in the fun.
Students and community members enjoyed sitting in the tractors, participating in straw bale tossing, cornhole competitions, and cow pie bingo. Maryland Secretary of Agriculture Joe Bartenfelder and many community members were enthusiastic visitors to the event.
In addition to the tractors brought in by students and farmers, there were information stations hosted by the Chesapeake College Agriculture Program, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), the Caroline County 4-H extension, and the Future Farmers of America (FFA). The Talbot County League of Women Voters was on hand to register voters.
Winners of the tractor judging were:
Best Display - Sam Gray
Oldest Tractor - Mason Lambert
Cleanest Tractor - Matt Willis
Dirtiest Tractor – Brad Plutschak
