Greensboro Elementary Holds Successful Book Adventure Night

(PDF with photos) March 7, 2018 - Greensboro Elementary once again held a February Book Adventure Night for students and families, complete with famous visitors like Clifford the Big Red Dog, Captain Underpants, Junie B. Jones, The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, and Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The staff Reading Committee, led by Media Specialist Jill Murdoch and Reading Resource Teacher Renee Carnochan, organize the event each year to coincide with the school Book Fair. The Reading Committee is made up of teachers who meet monthly to review reading data, plan reading incentives, and organize family involvement events that center around reading.

In addition to dressing up, 30+ staff members assisted with set up and clean up, serving pizza, and read-aloud sessions. Reading aloud in costume proved tricky for some characters but they bravely rose to the challenge.
