Board News from December 2017 Board of Education Meeting

  Fantastic Falcons from Federalsburg Elementary School opened the December Board of Education meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.









Matthew Wilkison, Colonel Richardson High School student, had his artwork chosen for the 2017 Holiday card from the Board of Education. Wilkison was honored during the December Board of Education meeting. He is joined by his mother, father, grandfather and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patricia Saelens, Board President James Newcomb, CRHS art teacher Marjorie Scott and CRHS principal Christal Harkowa.


Jodi Callahan, Caroline Career & Technology Center teacher, was recognized during the December Caroline County Board of Education meeting for being named the 2017 Outstanding National Future Farmers of America Alumni member. Callahan was joined by members of her family, students from the CCTC Future Farmers of America club and the Board of Education.



Other students were recognized for their artwork being chosen for the First Lady Yumi Hogan Maryland Students Artwork Exhibition at House of Delegates and the Fall Treasury Building Artwork Exhibition: Clara Guston, Clara Hopkins and Isha Sehar, Colonel Richardson High School; Minhthu 'Amy' Phan, North Caroline High School; Asia Colley, Denton Elementary School and Payton Brickey, Greensboro Elementary School.


The Board of Education voted on Board President, Board Vice President and Board Attorney. The following were elected by the board members: Board President - Louise Cheek; Board Vice-President - George Abner and Board Attorney - William (Sandy) McAllister of McAllister, DeTar, Showalter & Walker, LLC was elected to continue as Board attorney.

The Board discussed the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 school calendars.
