Caroline County Public Schools was recognized by the Board of Public Works for receiving a Superior rating in the Maintenance of Maryland's Public School Buildings report. The Public School Construction Program inspected 233 schools in the 24 school systems in fiscal year 2017. Of the 233 schools inspected, only nine schools statewide received a Superior rating. A superior rating went to Preston Elementary School.
Superintendent Dr. Patricia Saelens accepted the recognition during the October 18 Board of Public Works meeting in Annapolis. The Board of Public Works members are Governor Larry Hogan, State Comptroller Peter Franchot and State Treasurer Nancy Kopp.
