North High Named Maryland School of Character

North Caroline High School has been named a Maryland School of Character by the Maryland Center for Character Education. Dr. Michael Smith, NCHS principal, received the award during the Maryland Center for Education awards program on October 5 at Stevenson University. Only five schools in the state were chosen as a Maryland School of Character. Schools are selected for this honor by demonstrating a dedicated focus on character development that has a true positive impact on academic achievement, student behavior and school climate.
