Board News from October 2017 Board of Education Meeting

The Student Council Officers from Ridgely Elementary School opened the October Board of Education meeting by leading in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

RECOGNITIONS

The Board of Education recognized the following schools for their Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) programs at the individual schools.

The Caroline Career and Technology Center received a Bronze Award. This award is presented to schools that are in the implementation phase for school-wide PBIS.

Principal Gene Smith is shown with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patricia Saelens, board vice president Tolbert Rowe, board member Kathy Dill, board president James Newcomb Jr. and board member George Abner.

 

 

 

Denton Elementary School received a Gold Award for its PBIS program. The Gold Award is presented to schools that are demonstrating sustainability for the system, practices, and data utilization for school-wide PBIS and can demonstrate that their implementation has had positive effects on both their discipline and achievement data for the last two years. Principal Roger Banko and Amy Bauman received the recognition from the Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patricia Saelens.

 

 

Federalsburg Elementary School received the Gold Award for its PBIS program. Receiving the recognition were from FES were Principal Dr. Yolanda Holloway, Assistant Principal Brian Yates and Lisa Dayton.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Greensboro Elementary School received the Gold Award for its PBIS program. Receiving the recognition from the Board and Superintendent were Assistant Principal Todd Nichols, Colleen MacFarland, Principal Dawn Swann and Leslie Jefferson.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Preston Elementary School received a Gold Award for its PBIS program. Preston principal Dr. Kari Clow, Assistant Principal Rich Petroske and Keli Worm received the award.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ridgely Elementary School received a Gold Award for its PBIS program. Receiving the award for the school were Principal Lee Sutton, Assistant Principal AJ Angeloni and Cathy Heinsohn.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Colonel Richardson Middle School received a Gold Award for its PBIS program. Receiving the recognition were Principal Rob Willoughby and Jennifer Blunt.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Lockerman Middle School received a Gold Award for its PBIS program. Receiving the award were Shane Hynson, Trina Honer, Kia McKinney, Ann Ferkler, Shelby Williams, Principal Nicole VondenBosch, Assistant Principals Jonathan Grow and Courtney Handte.

 

 

 

 

Colonel Richardson High School received the Gold Award for its PBIS program. Receving the recognition were Assistant Principal Matthew Shepler and Principal Christal Harkowa.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

North Caroline High School received a Gold Award for its PBIS program. Receiving the award were Principal Dr. Michael Smith, Wendy Gravelle, Assistant Principal Erin Adams and Keri Marshall.

  • Overnight Field Trip Request for Colonel Richardson High School band to attend a band festival in Myrtle Beach, SC in April, 2018.
  • Overnight Field Trip Request for Colonel Richardson Middle School and Lockerman Middle School sixth grade students to attend NorthBay Environmental Learning Center from January 8 through January 12, 2018.
