Ridgely Elementary Parent Named Parent Involvement Matters Award Winner

Danielle Jacobsen, Ridgely Elementary School PTA President, has been chosen as Caroline County Public Schools' Parent Involvement Matters Award winner.

Mrs. Jacobsen supports students, parents and staff through her involvement with volunteering and facilitating PTA activities. In addition, her efforts with fundraising directly support the students through purchasing of school supplies. She also represents Ridgely Elementary at county-wide school system meetings. Her leadership and dedication to RES are greatly appreciated.

The Maryland Parent Involvement Awards Program (PIMA) is the nation's first statewide initiative of its kind - recognizing parents and legal guardians for their exceptional support of public education. Parents are nominated for demonstrating significant, positive contributions in their education communities. This is PIMA's eighth year.

Mrs. Jacobsen will be recognized along with 23 other semifinalists for the 2015 Parent Involvement Matters Award on Friday, June 5 at Martin's West in Baltimore. Five finalists and a statewide winner, selected from the 24 semifinalists will be announced during the awards ceremony.

The PIMA program recognizes parents from local school systems across the state of Maryland, nominated for their contributions in one or more of the five areas of parental involvement: communication; volunteering; decision making; and community collaboration.
