The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has granted Caroline County Public Schools approval to have a full day of school on Monday, April 6. The date had to be approved by MSDE as it is a state required holiday.
The Caroline County Board of Education approved the following calendar adjustments during their March 3rd board meeting due to the excessive number of school closures as a result of snow and ice:
Wednesday, April 1 - was a half day for students; now a full day for students and staff.
Thursday, April 2 - was a closed day; now a half day for students and a full day for staff.
Friday, April 17 - was a non-student day; now a half day for students and a full day for staff.
Since submitting the request to MSDE, schools were closed an additional two days for a total of ten days missed due to inclement weather. The Caroline County Board of Education will have to discuss how to make up the additional two days of school.
