Teacher of the Year Nominees Sought

Nominate an Outstanding Teacher for Teacher of the Year

Caroline County Public Schools supports the Maryland Teacher of the Year program by selecting a countywide Teacher of the Year. Full-time classroom, resource or media teachers, who spend the majority of their time teaching, are eligible to participate. Nominees must have completed a minimum of five years of teaching by June 2015 and be tenured. Caroline County's selection will automatically represent Caroline County in the Maryland Teacher of the Year program.

The Maryland Teacher of the Year holds a prominent position as a state education spokesperson and is Maryland's candidate for National Teacher of the Year. As the Caroline County Teacher of the Year, the teacher has an important role representing fellow teachers and working with education and community leaders to effect change.

"Teaching is, we believe, the most important of all professions," said Maryland State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lillian Lowery. "The Maryland Teacher of the Year Program gives us an opportunity to recognize outstanding teachers and have them serve as leaders in Maryland."

Any parent, student, staff or community member may nominate a teacher for Caroline County Teacher of the Year by completing a nomination form at any school office or clicking on the form below. The form must be submitted to Mr. Brian Spiering at the Caroline County Board of Education, 204 Franklin Street, Denton, MD 21629 by March 6, 2015.
